The Indian Society of Atomic & Molecular Physics (ISAMP) was formed in 1975 with a group of internationally renowned physicists from across the country to facilitate interactions between Indian scientists developing physics ideas to deal with atoms, molecules, and photons. The unique capability of the atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physicists in building their own instruments can play a key role in INNOVATE-IN-INDIA and MAKE-IN-INDIA Initiatives. The meeting highlighted the expertise of the atomic and molecular physics community, fostering stronger collaborations between the AMO community and industry partners. |

The Thin Film Laboratory (TFL) was born on 24 August 1970 when Prof. K. L. Chopra joined Physics Department as a Senior Professor. Its academic, sponsored and industrial research activities were started under his visionary guidance. TFL grew rapidly as enthusiastic Faculty, Ph.D./ M.Tech./ M.Sc. students/ post-docs and new Faculty joined it. The TFL has been recognized nationally and internationally for its outstanding and path breaking contributions in various domains of Thin Film Science & Technology. About 250+ TFL alumni from across the globe celebrated its Golden Jubilee via two virtual events on September 5 and 12, 2020, 8-10 pm each day. On these occasions, Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Secretary Department of Science & Technology Prof. Ashutosh Sharma congratulated the participants of the events and wished TFL a continued scaling of new heights by sending their written messages.
